Gaza belongs to Palestinians, China and Russia Express Strong Reservations over US Resolution in Security Council

China and Russia have criticized US Gaza Peace Resolution at UN Security Council. China and Russia have voiced strong reservations regarding the United States’ Gaza peace resolution presented to the United Nations Security Council, asserting that Gaza belongs solely to the Palestinian people.

Both countries stated that the resolution lacks clarity on key issues, including the role of the Palestinians, transparency, and the authority of the proposed stabilization force.

Chinese Ambassador Fu Cong remarked that the resolution fails to reflect the principles of Palestinian governance and criticized the United States for not providing sufficient details about the International Stabilization Force and the proposed Board of Peace.

The Russian delegate argued that the plan excludes Palestinian participation and risks further dividing Gaza and the West Bank.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea, and Slovenia expressed support for the resolution. Denmark emphasized the importance of maintaining the unity of Gaza and the West Bank.

It is noteworthy that the United Nations Security Council approved the resolution endorsing US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan. The resolution received 14 votes in favor, with no votes against. Russia and China abstained from the voting process.

The US representative extended gratitude to Pakistan, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Indonesia for their support in the Security Council.

However, Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups rejected the resolution, opposing the endorsement of President Trump’s Gaza peace plan.
