Govt and AJK Action Committee Reach Peaceful Agreement

The True Post (Web News)In Azad Kashmir, negotiations between federal ministers and the Awami Action Committee have successfully concluded, leading to a formal agreement.

At a joint press conference in Muzaffarabad, government representatives and members of the Action Committee announced the deal. Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister, said the matter was resolved amicably and the committee’s legitimate demands were accepted. He added that a Legal Action Committee has been formed, which will meet every 15 days to resolve issues.

PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf stated that some people wanted to worsen the situation, but their plans failed. He emphasized that maintaining peace in Kashmir is a collective responsibility, and from now on, grievances should be presented before the committee rather than on the streets.

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal called the agreement a victory for Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, and democracy, highlighting that wisdom and dialogue helped overcome a difficult situation peacefully.

Earlier, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry announced that the final agreement had been signed and declared it a victory of peace, confirming that roads were reopened and protestors had returned home.

Agreement Points:

  • FIRs under anti-terrorism law will be registered for deaths caused by violent incidents.

  • Compensation will be provided to families of those killed on October 1–2.

  • Each injured person will receive Rs. 1 million.

  • Families of martyrs will be given a government job within 20 days.

  • Two additional Secondary Education Boards will be established in Muzaffarabad and Poonch, affiliated with the Federal Board.

  • Funds for the health card program will be released within 15 days.

  • The Government of Pakistan will provide Rs. 10 billion to improve the electricity transmission system.
