The True Post (Web News)Hamas has announced it will move to implement President Trump’s ceasefire proposal for Gaza.
According to news agencies, Hamas says it is prepared to release all Israeli hostages, provided the Israeli military fully withdraws from Gaza. The group has submitted its formal response to Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan to mediators.
In a statement, Hamas affirmed its willingness to the overall proposal but asked to enter immediate talks through third-party mediators to negotiate the agreement’s details. It said it would hand over Gaza’s administration to an interim body of Palestinian technocrats, on the condition that this body be formed on the basis of Palestinian national consensus and with Arab and Islamic backing.
Hamas added that decisions about Gaza’s future and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people should be made under a comprehensive Palestinian national framework. The group demanded that this framework include all Palestinian factions, and said Hamas would play a “responsible role.” It also insisted that all actions comply with relevant international laws and UN resolutions.
Recall that U.S. President Donald Trump had given Hamas a deadline to accept the ceasefire deal, saying parties had until Sunday 6 p.m. to sign. Trump warned that failure to agree would bring severe consequences, while acceptance would protect the lives of Hamas fighters.
