Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar has stated that Pakistan supports the resolution of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
He emphasized that Russia-Ukraine war is having a profound impact on the region and that the path of dialogue should be adopted to resolve such disputes.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar expressed Pakistan’s concerns regarding the ongoing conflict, noting that the war has caused significant hardship for people in the region. He stressed that the safety of civilians and infrastructure must be ensured in accordance with international law.
He further clarified that there is no military solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The involved parties should work toward ending the hostilities and tensions, resolve their issues through dialogue and support all efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution.
It is worth noting that US media recently reported that the Trump administration has been quietly formulating a new plan to end the Ukraine war in consultation with Russia, with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff leading the initiative.
Yesterday, US media claimed that President Trump had quietly approved the Russia-Ukraine peace plan earlier this week.
According to the report, the 28-point roadmap for ending the war includes peace and security guarantees for Ukraine, while also addressing European security concerns and the future of US relations with both Russia and Ukraine.
