Roadwork causes traffic delays in Ottawa’s Queensway Terrace South area

The True Post ( Web News)According to a statement issued by the City of Ottawa, ongoing overhead utility work and road reconstruction projects are underway in the Queensway Terrace South community, particularly along Baseline Road and Greenbank Road. The construction is expected to be completed by late November.

Traffic will be affected on Baseline Road (from Cornell Street to McWatters Road) and Greenbank Road (from Lisa Avenue to Monterey Drive), with lane reductions in both directions.

The city warned of possible traffic delays in construction zones and said signage has been installed to inform residents. Temporary traffic-calming measures have also been introduced in nearby streets.

Once completed, the area will see new storm sewer catch basins, dedicated bus lanes, new concrete sidewalks, raised cycle tracks, and reconfigured traffic lanes.

During the work, several OC Transpo bus stops are being temporarily relocated, and routes 68, 82, 88, 646, 688, and 691 may experience delays.

Pedestrian sidewalks at intersections will remain closed, and walkers and cyclists are advised to follow detour signs for safe alternate routes.
