The True Post (Web News) Technology company Meta has taken an important step to protect its users from online fraud and forgery.
The company has announced that now, if an attempt is made to share the screen during a video call with an unknown person on WhatsApp, a warning will be issued immediately to the user so that he can be protected from any possible fraud.
According to Meta, the aim of this feature is to stop the growing online frauds in which fraudsters try to steal sensitive information from users by posing as customer service representatives of various companies, banks or airlines. According to the report, such fraudsters often create fake accounts and Facebook pages on social media and present themselves as representatives of well-known brands. They contact users after seeing their comments and ask them to share the screen under the pretext of solving the problem.
According to experts, although these fraudsters are not able to obtain the passwords of the users directly, they try to reset the passwords with the help of usernames and other information. During this time, they access the accounts by looking at the verification codes that appear on the screen. Meta says that in addition to WhatsApp, suspicious chats and accounts will be flagged on Facebook Messenger so that users can be warned of the danger in advance. The company aims to remind users not to share their screen, password or banking information with any unrelated person or unverified representative.
