Muzaffarabad: The no-confidence motion against Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq is continuously delayed.
Sources say that the PPP leaders have not yet nominated an alternative leader of the house and Pakistan People Party is expected to decide on submitting the no-confidence motion only after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari returns home.
Sources say that the PML-N’s demand for early elections is allegedly the reason for the delay, while 80 percent of the Azad Kashmir Government’s development budget is yet to be spent.
According to sources, the term of the current assembly ends in July 2026, while the PML-N is demanding that elections be held in March 2026.
Sources reveled that if PML-N’s demand is accepted, the new government will lose power in January, 02 months before the elections, while the PPP will not be able to achieve the desired political goals in December and January.
Sources say that the PPP’s insistence on completing the assembly’s term is the alleged reason for the deadlock.
It should be noted that the PML-N and the PPP have agreed on a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, however, PML-N says that they will not be part of the Azad Kashmir government and will sit on the opposition benches.
