Pakistani Government gives special permission to Indian Sikh pilgrims to attend the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak so that Sikhs can visit the shrine of their spiritual leader and pay homage to him.

Sikh pilgrims are allowed to go to Nankana Sahib after security clearance. Pakistani immigration authorities have sent back 12 Hindus accompanying Sikh pilgrims to India. According to immigration authorities, these 12 Hindus were born in Sindh and have now taken Indian citizenship. Officials say that only Sikh pilgrims have been allowed to enter Pakistan.
